Ever since I started teaching ukulele I became a big fan of clip-on tuners because they are easy for beginners to use, the battery lasts a long time, and they are super focused. What I mean by "focused" is that they have some magical qualities that help them pick up the sound of the instrument they're clipped on to. Even when I had students around me playing their xylophones, pianos, and strumming away on their ukuleles, the tuner always seemed to pick up on the sound of the instrument I was tuning.
In the next few weeks I plan on buying some new materials for my classroom and I decided to investigate... I wanted to find top-selling clip-on tuners, how much they cost, and what made them great.
